Gateway Setup Guide: Proxmox VE

Prerequisites

• Proxmox VE host available

• Gateway image (ZST) downloaded

Gateway Installation

Warning: The image file must not be renamed!

1) Upload the image to the Proxmox VE backup storage

scp vzdump-qemu-gateway-1.7.9.vma.zst <PROXMOX_USER>@<PROXMOX_SERVER>:/var/lib/vz/dump/

The image must be uploaded to storage specifically for backups. The automatically created default storage should be /var/lib/vz/dump/. Please check the backup location for your Proxmox setup!

2) Open the Proxmox web interface and navigate to the backup storage

3) Select image and click Restore

4) Configure VM and click Restore

You can select the storage, ID, and name of the VM here as per your preferences. The recommended settings for CPU and RAM are already preconfigured.

5) Wait for completion

Load backup

6) The VM should now be created, and the gateway can be configured.
